1) Bob Eagle in 2018, when asked at facebook about an explanation for the April 30 birth date in the "BARE" (Bob Eagle & Eric S. LeBlanc: Blues - A Regional Experience.- Santa Barbara (Praeger Publishers) 2013) entry: "I can't resolve this one. The latest thinking is that he may have been born as late as 1924." "I should explain why. Ples Williamson and his wife Delia (Cordelia) were living in Civil District 5, Fayette County, TN, in 1930. Among their children was James, aged 6, apparently spelled 'Jams'. In theory, ages in the 1930 census should be given as of April 1, but practice didn't always follow theory, so he could have been born in 1923 or 1924. Delia was only 26 and had been married only 3 years, so it seems that Ples (or Plez) Williamson was Homesick's stepfather. His other supposed surname was Henderson, and there were Henderson families in abundance nearby."
